Mission
The mission of Ticks in Virginia is to raise awareness about the dangers of ticks, prevent tick-borne diseases, and improve health outcomes for patients through research, translation, and dissemination of evidence-based, audience-specific information and resources.
Goals
Serve as a leader in research, translation, and dissemination of audience-tailored tick safety and tick-borne disease prevention programs, practices, and policies
Partner with patients, organizations, schools, employers, healthcare providers, and institutions to advance research, education, and dissemination of best practices
Conduct urban tick surveillance and mixed-method patient health outcome research
Provide tick safety and tick-borne disease outreach and education programs at schools, workplaces, parks, hospitals, and community events
Promote best practices for improving the quality of care and health outcomes for patients with tick-borne diseases
